ULTIMATE OVERDRIVE, ULTIMATE CONTROL
When it comes to overdrive, nothing beats the sound of a vintage amp. The RevivalDRIVE CUSTOM recreates a valve amp-style signal path in all-analogue electronics to provide realistic tonal response, touch-sensitive drive characteristics, and elusive ghosting overtones.
RevivalDRIVE CUSTOM’s two channels each deliver a wide range of vintage British and American amp flavours, from clean to fully cranked. Intuitive controls let you go under the hood to tweak every aspect of the amplifier, from preamp shape to power amp breakup, even down to the sag and ripple of the HT supply. Match the pedal to even the fussiest amplifier with the most powerful Reamp EQ available.
With amp-like playing feel and realistic harmonics this may be the last overdrive pedal you will ever need.

TOUCH SENSITIVE SOUND
There is a tangible excitement to playing a valve amp at high volume. A direct link between your ears and fingers where every movement of the strings can be heard and felt. Soft, soulful touch or snarling pick attack, RevivalDRIVE CUSTOM brings these moments to life in a way no other pedal can.
Delivering sparkling cleans and thick crunch with all the sensitivity of a classic amp, the RevivalDRIVE CUSTOM feels as inspiring as it sounds.
AMP-LIKE SIGNAL PATH
RevivalDRIVE CUSTOM contains a complete valve amp-style signal path with dedicated class-A preamp, a long-tailed pair phase inverter, and a push-pull output stage. Each block has been designed to reproduce not one, but many different amplifier sounds, putting incredible tone-shaping power at your disposal. Recreate your favourite vintage amps or get creative with new and exciting combinations.
SHAPE YOUR PREAMP VOICE
Amplifier tone starts with the preamp, and this stage can fundamentally re-shape your signal.
Select from a range of voicing and bright-cap options to configure RevivalDRIVE CUSTOMS’s Class-A preamp stage. Use the LOWS control to tighten up the bottom end or push the bass into thick distortion.
REACTIVE DRIVE TECHNOLOGY
Origin Effects’ Reactive Drive Technology adds another level of realism, replicating the frequency-dependent effects of a loudspeaker on the non-linear performance of a valve power amp.
We’ve applied this to our push-pull high-voltage output stage, built with meticulously hand-selected discrete JFETS, to achieve sound quality unmatched by conventional pedal designs.
CLOSING THE LOOP
Take control of your distortion character with variable negative feedback.
The jangle and chime of the British Invasion? Edge-of-breakup picking dynamics? The presence and bite of a cranked full-stack?
RevivalDRIVE CUSTOMS’s MORE/PRES knob has all bases covered, with a smooth continuous control that offers a world of character. Pair that with Origin Effects’ Reactive Drive Technology and you’ve got the most authentic valve power amp recreation available.
RECTIFIERS, SAG AND… GHOSTS
Have you experienced the other-worldly overtones of a cranked Twin or an early Plexi? RevivalDRIVE pedals are the only pedals to recreate the subtle “ghosting” effect heard when these amps are pushed to the edge. These dissonant ghost notes are an interaction between your playing and the AC mains power, resulting from the rudimentary power supply circuits of early amplifiers.
RevivalDRIVE CUSTOM’s Valve and Silicon Rectifier channels, combined with our exclusive GHOST control, give you a huge tonal spectrum to explore. Turn up the GHOST knob and play up the neck for haunting lead tones. Get tight, modern chord definition from the Silicon channel, or switch to the Valve channel for increased sag and smooth, natural compression.
AMP MEETS PEDAL
How to match the ultimate amp-in-a-box pedal to your existing amplifier? Typically, when pedal designers are voicing their pedals, they’re using THEIR favourite amp. If you happen to be using something different or going into a power amp or recording interface, you’re not getting the most out of your pedal.
The standard RevivalDRIVE pedal works around that by providing two EQ curve options for British- and American-style amps. The RevivalDRIVE CUSTOM takes this one step further. Hi-Shelf and Bright-Cap Cut filters are both enhanced with additional frequency options, selectable via front-mounted toggle switches. Use the comprehensive EQ2 controls to fine-tune your sound, with an adjustable “tilt” control, three frequency positions, and two operating modes.
RevivalDRIVE and RevivalDRIVE CUSTOM even include a Power Amp Mode for compatibility with flat-response power amplifiers and recording interfaces, so you never need to compromise your sound.
BUILT FOR THE ROAD
Housed in a hand polished, brushed stainless steel enclosure and furnished with aluminium controls, Neutrik jack sockets and heavy-duty footswitch, the RevivalDRIVE CUSTOM is at home on the road as it is in the studio.
Weight: 1.25 kg (2.76 lb)
Dimensions: 165 × 118 × 65 mm (6.30 x 4.65 x 2.56 in) Includes knobs and switches
Input Impedance: 1 MΩ
Output Impedance: 1 kΩ
Current Draw: 120mA
9V DC 2.1 mm centre-negative
Please note: the RevivalDRIVE is powered by a mains adaptor only (not included). We’ve dispensed with the usual 9V battery option, both to save space and to allow us to adopt a high-current approach, yielding lower noise levels and superior tone.
Origin Effects pedals are designed to deliver impeccable performance using a range of power supplies. We recommend you only use a regulated power supply specifically designed for guitar pedal applications as power supplies which do not have sufficient internal filtering can result in unwanted noise.
We recommend the following power supplies for use with our pedals:
- Voodoo Labs Pedal Power series
- Cioks supplies
- Truetone 1 Spot Pro series
- Strymon Zuma
This product should only be operated at 9V. The design employs a voltage doubling circuit to achieve higher internal voltages for improved sonic performance.
